Phillip Toth, Managing Director

Phil has over 25 years experience in institutional capital markets and financial advisory. This is the third firm which he has a principal role.  Phil led or participated in transactions totaling many billions of dollars at firms such as Stifel Nicholas, Cohen and Company and Ernst & Young.  Sample transactions include acting as placement agent for marketplace lending securitizations, collapsing securities deals, trading and creating structured products and advisory roles for numerous companies.  He has extensive experience working internationally with deals to his credit in Asia, Europe, and North America.  Phil has an undergraduate degree in Finance from Michigan State University, and master’s degrees from the University of Oklahoma (MBA), SDA Bocconi (Master International Economics) and Columbia University (Master Public Policy). He is well-known in the industry for his commendable contributions which include publishing articles, participating as a panelist at many significant industry-related conferences, teaching at Columbia and serving as the Head Learning Facilitator for Harvard University’s FinTech Program from 2020 – 2023.

Joe Nuzzolo,  Senior Advisor

Prior to QueensGiant, Joe led entrepreneurial efforts to build advisory practices at Big Four firms, leading the Capital Advisory practice in the U.S. for KPMG Corporate Finance, LLC, and founding and leading the Capital Markets Advisory practice in the U.S. for PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC). Joe also served as a Director at Lazard Frères & Co. LLC, where he played an instrumental role in building Lazard’s global Corporate Finance & Capital Markets Advisory practice. While at Lazard, he provided clients with independent and objective advice on a broad range of strategic corporate finance and capital markets transactions. Joe has also held positions in M&A and investment banking at Merrill Lynch and JPMorgan. He has an MBA in Finance from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University

Ray Gatten, Senior Managing Director

Ray has over 35 years of experience in the financial industry and brings a wealth of expertise in structured finance and capital markets. He is known for his creativity and problem-solving abilities as manifested in several unique financing. These include prison securitizations, manufactured housing deals, multiple first-time securitizations, structured financings of esoteric and emerging assets, non-performing CRE loans, subprime auto, and water company refund contracts. He played a leading role in an industry-first marketplace lending securitization using Lending Club unsecured consumer loans. He served in senior positions at RBC Dain Rauscher, First Tennessee, Paine Webber, Wachovia, and Merrill Lynch. Ray graduated from the University of  North Alabama, where he was an Arts and Speech major.

Newell Anderson, Managing Director - Business Development

Newell Anderson has almost 40 years of business experience in domestic and international business. He has directed and assisted in mergers, acquisitions, raising capital, exit strategies as well as buys/sells. He develops strategic investors and strategic partners for clients on an international basis. Newell has extensive corporate experience, as well as Wall Street experience in developing comprehensive wealth strategies for families and companies. Prior to forming  NWA International he was Senior Managing Director of Northeast/Mid-Atlantic operations for the private wealth management division at an international accounting advisory firm, BDO, where he worked with clients as a wealth strategist and financial advisory with families in devising solutions to their problems. Also, Newell worked with some of the top names in the wealth management and financial services industry, where he was Executive Vice President at developing strategic wealth management solutions for clients. Newell’s career includes extensive experience in international and domestic organizations for the purpose of driving revenue to the client. He attended Florida State University and is a graduate of Rollins College, in Winter Park Florida, with a B.S in Business

Lawrence Lanzilli, Managing Director

Lawrence approaches investment banking from an entrepreneurial perspective. He’s been a part of multiple exits. They were attributable to a proven track record of accelerating revenue and scaling international high-growth technology companies by optimizing sales & marketing strategies, building out impactful sales teams, streamlining messaging, and capitalizing on industry leading events. He’s an expert at raising capital and creating long-term strategic value for investors. He’s held leadership roles at $1B+ companies and innovative, fast growing, FinTech startups that benefited from his strong record of substantially increasing valuations and driving towards M&A, IPO, and/or SPAC. Lawrence has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Shawn Moss - Managing Director

​Shawn Moss has built high growth and leading companies in all capacities as sell-side and buy-side M&A advisor, investor, financier and board member for twenty years in over $29 billion in transactions in the Americas. He has focused on sectors including technology, consumer/retail, education and healthcare.  Mr. Moss founded several small businesses and startups including The Prosyon Group, an M&A consulting boutique that provides advisory services to investors, families and firms seeking inorganic expansion or exits in Brazil as well as consulting to SMBs. He also founded Eleva, an innovative mobility and payments fintech using a digital wallet, data aggregation and AI to generate consumer savings via credit card point arbitrage. Prior to that he was a Vice President of Private Equity with Palisade Capital where he oversaw or invested in technology companies such as edutech SAAS company Achieve3000, Send Word Now and edutainment company Word World which won two Emmy awards. Prior to that he was a Private Equity Associate with The Riverside Company. He began his career at J.P. Morgan as a Leveraged Finance investment banker with key deals including the Advance Auto Parts/Discount Auto Parts reverse merger and Crown Cork & Seal restructuring which saved the company from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.  Mr. Moss has an MBA in Strategic Management from University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School of Business and a Bachelors of Arts in Economics & Management from DePauw University. He lived in Italy, Germany, and Brazil with fluency in English and Portuguese.

Na Pantene Wai, Analyst

Pantene is a finance professional who strives to excel in advanced risk decision-making capabilities and analytical competencies. She is passionate about presenting data-driven, quantitative planning and managerial techniques with advanced visualization methods. At QueensGiant, Pantene utilizes her data visualization competencies like Tableau and Microsoft Excel to perform data stratifications of prospects, bringing analytical insights to any project. Pantene has a diploma of B.S. in Hotel and Tourism Management from New York University advanced and an M.S. in Enterprise Risk Management with a concentration of Financial Risk Management at Columbia University,

Connor Paradis, Analyst

Connor joined QueensGiant as an analyst in December 2020. Originally from Maine, he earned his undergraduate degree in Finance & Marketing from Seton Hall University. Connor blends a personal interest in classical literature with significant analytical skills to produce in-depth data analyses without losing sight of the big picture in a project.​

Andrew Gomar, Associate

Andrew joined QueensGiant as an Associate in September 2021. Before joining QueensGiant, he spent 3 years as a Financial Analyst at Cushman & Wakefield gaining valuable experience in various areas of commercial real estate. Andrew is a graduate of the Questrom Business School at Boston University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance.​

Vince Reph, Analyst

Vince joined QueensGiant as an analyst in December of 2021. He is currently an Economics major at Hamilton College. He brings with him the learnings of a communication and critical thinking focused liberal arts curriculum. In addition, he carries the analytically driven thought processes of his coursework which includes Macroeconomic, Microeconomic, and Mathematics courses.​

Jade Ju, Analyst

Jade joined QueensGiant as an Analyst in February 2021. She has experience in the Education, Technology, and Consulting industries. She graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Mathematics and is currently studying at Columbia University for her Master’s in Enterprise Risk Management.​

Shane Cotter, Analyst

Shane joined QueensGiant in February 2021. He has experience in the financial services industry. Combining everything he’s learned in his math and finance classes, he seeks to bring a diverse approach to problem solving. Shane is currently studying Mathematics at the University of Connecticut and is a member of the UConn Student-Managed Fund.
